I'm sure what you call it; water tank / boiler? It's sited in my kitchen and heats the water. I've been away for 12 months, switched it on, water is dripping. I've no hot water.

Turn off the water supply to the tank & unplug the electric supply. Otherwise, from experience it may cause your fuses to switch off.

It's sounding like it's full of calcium.

Unfortunately, it sounds as if you need a new one. Go to your nearest bricolage in the morning, they will be able to fit a new one for you.

It's a common occurrence.

It sounds like it's had it, unless it's only a couple of years old. Don't waste your money trying to get it repaired as they're not that expensive.

I would recommend Tien 21 in Algofar for a replacement. They replaced ours the same day and took the old one away for an excellent price. It was around the same price as Leroy Merlin's for supply only. Excellent people to deal with.

Thanks for recommending Tien 21. I went to see them, very helpful staff, purchased a new heater and they arranged for it to be installed within 3 hrs. No fuss or bother.

Very professional.
