Good day all - we just got back from Gandia - have a number of options to buy around the boulevard. The properties are all empty (for some time we assume). I would like to get a recommendation for someone to do a good inspection of the property before we do an offer. Anyone known?

Mark Paddon is the best known and most usual surveyor in the Marina Alta. Dothe obvious search online, I think his name comes up first. We usedhim, no problems.

Great, thanks Stephanie! I will give it a search. Any number or so you might have?

"The Boulevard" in Gandia. Do you mean The Paseo? Or are you looking at Grau de Gandia, by the beach?

No.....we bought our place in Gandia with the help of a local solicitor who was really thorough with property searches and knows the area like the back of her hand.

Be careful with places on the Paseo- some parts are nicer than others. We looked at a great flat there but the building it was in was not so great, unloved. There has been lots of building work by developers going on of late so I guess those flats are coming back on the market.

The Paseo is also very noisy, which is great, it's really lively, but not so good if you want peace and quiet........

..... forgot to say, I can recommend our solicitor (she speaks English), she will know what's dodgy- or not- on the Paseo, and she has an architect attached to her practice who did an external survey for us, which was enough for our purposes.....I can give you her details if you like?

Just also remembered a couple more things about the Paseo......I don't know if you are looking at the end near the river, or the part away from the town-? But there's a big supermarket being built at the out of town end, also a technical college, part of the University of Valencia. Which is great for the town, but might make that end a bit less peaceful-?!
