Hi, folks, looking for a bit of advice. We've had our bathroom and kitchen ceilings and kitchen walls replasterered and are about to paint them. Anyone done this? If so, could you recommend a primer or type of paint to use on the raw plaster? Probably from Leroy Merlin........

Thanks in advance

Just a standard cheap white emulsion, diluted about 75/25 paint to water.

I would recommend using an anti mold emulsion (anti moho) as the finishing coat to help against any mold spots forming.

Leroy Merlin, while probably the dearest around town, have a fantastic range of paints. We have just completed painting our lounge and bedroom with emulsion and gloss paints purchased from Leroy Merlin and we were happy with the finished article. We have also bought exterior paint from them previously and again the paint was expensive but high quality. We wasted money (trying to save money) buying paint from the Chino shops, the paint was like water but it did kill a rat, but that’s another story🤭

Regards

Jim

Go on, Jim, tell the story of how the Chino paint killed a rat.......
