Hi everybody. I am in the opposite situation than most of you. I am Spanish but lived and worked in UK for more than 30 years. Although I have Permanent residence, I am not sure how things can change after Brexit is finalised by the end of the year. I considered applying for UK citizenship. Apart from being very expensive (£2000), apparently it's a very hard process, and a solicitor would charge me another £1000. Can any of you (being British) give me any advise? Thank you!

Difficult if not impossible question to be asking Brits, I think you'd probably do better in your circmstances here

Thank you for your replies. I have Indefinite Leave to Remain since I first came to UK more than 30 years ago. I also got the Settleled Status recently (which I probably didn't need). My concern is, as the Law changes from one day to the next, that they could decide that this is not valid in the future. I wouldn't  lose the Spanish nationality. I think that they wouldn't recognise my British citizenship in Spain, but that doesnt worry me, as I have the Spanish one when I am there. In any case, I dont think I am prepare to pay £3000 to get British citizenship (£2000+£1000 for a solicitor).
