Hi my name is Michael we currently have a tenant renting our house in grand alicant and the contract has finished.We now want to use the house for ourselves which leaves the tenant looking for another property if any has a two bedroom villa semi detached or detached for long term rental in the grand alicant area please send details with pictures and prices .

Hi, Michael. Could be complicated. Most important question..Does the tenant want to move ? Is the current contract for a year or more ?
Very difficult to stop tenant renewing contract, even if he has been behind with rent etc. if he wants to stay..
For your sake, I hope he is wanting to move .

The tenant does not have a choice if the landlord wants the property back to live in himself. The tenant may ask the owner to prove that but in the end will need to leave after the required notice.

Yes, Stev, absolutely right. But having researched this subject, it can be very difficult for owner to prove he needs his home back and can take a very long time to get matter resolved under Spanish Law. That is why I mentioned that I hoped the tenant was happy to move.
