Hi there. I have just recently purchases a property in Gran Alacant.  We only have 4 days to furnish/equip it.  I'm not finding everything I need at the Commercial centre.  ideally I would like to go to one place.  Someone suggested Conforma in Alcante?  Do they do Flatback goods? This is not ideal if I have a whole house to do quickly.  Other suggestions were Meubles Seville in Santa Pola?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Lynn

Clare, hi,

To be honest it was more difficult for us as we didn't hire a car and we were only going a few days each month rather than living there.  On hind site I think I would take myself to Ikea.  As you know it is not high end but it does have such a varied stock and you can find everything in one place.

Meanwhile the shops in GA Commercial centre were all great.  They gave a good reliable and friendly service.

You will not regret your decision about buying in that area - we love it!!

Good luck with that.

Lynn

Hi Lynne

Thanks for your speedy reply. I can’t wait 😊 and certain for a good feeling when we travelled out to buy. We should complete mid-March, fingers crossed. We like you, would be out at least once a month for long weekends and maybe more in the summertime. Is Ikea very far away from GA and would you recommend hiring a car on our first trip out? Or do you think a taxi 🚖 would be sufficient? This is all very new to us and so any advice you could give about insurance, market days, food shopping etc would be appreciated 😊

Regards

Clare

Hi Claire,

We have just returned back from 10 day trip to sort furniture.

Beds & mattresses were purchased from GA centre. They delivered and put together all our beds and we were very glad of that as they were storage beds and the kingsize was lifted through the front balcony.

TV and kitchen electricals also from GA centre.

Flat pack furniture and other kitchen items we bought from ikea and had hired an estate car for this reason.

Sofa was purchased from DFS which we chose here and was delivered from their base near Javea.

Still more to purchase but place clean with furniture in place and now when we go back we can at least chill at the end of the day.

Nikki

Hi Nikki

Thank you for your message. We get our keys in a couple of weeks and my head is buzzing with ideas and plans of what we should do. I must admit my thoughts were mostly the same as you although I had maybe thought to buy a second hand sofa if we could. I also need to furnish the basement as a small living area so that furniture would possibly need to be second hand until we got on our feet a little. Please keep in touch as any hints and recommendations are very welcomed 😜

Can’t wait 😊

I’m sure you will love it Clare,

We have a sofa bed, chair and sideboard in the middle part of basement. Doors on one end as a storage area and we have put 4 single beds near the window and have agreed to hang curtains across this area as we have 4 grandkids who are so excited that it’s going to be there den lol!!
