An Urgent plea for Help

As you rent and not own and you,ve sold most of your belongings,  would it not be better to return to the UK where you,d be better supported by the benefit system. With young children to protect too, this pandemic is not going to disappear that quickly for things to return to normal. The repercussions on employment will probably take several years to ease. You can't ask for charity for such a long period. Don't mean to sound harsh but you need to be realistic and support your children responsibly.

It is hard to read your Plea for help......In Spain they do not have the support available for people in distress.

My suggestion is to contact the British Consulate and hear what they have to say, as you have Children i feel they must understand your situation.

I know there are some British run charities who have tried to help, and in the past i have answered a call but for items to set up a home and clothing etc... but not cash. Sadly some people may think  "is this for real" ie a scam but i am of this opinion, i feel you need help and now, so please consider contacting the Consulate and i really hope they will be able to help you.

Thank you very much for taking the time out to reply. Your advice is very helpful and i will look into it to see how best we can deal with our current situation. Its very unfortunately that we find ourselves in such a situation. Hopefully things will get better but for now i have been hit badly. Once again thank you very much for your wonderful advice.

I totally understand what you mean that most people would think its a scam. i personal who think so too, i never imagined in my widest dreams that i would online one day asking for charity but life really did knock me down this time and thought i should humble myself and seek for assistance.Thank you once again for your kindness.

Until just recently i never knew spain had the same benefits system as the UK, well similar. Provided you have paid into the system, eg paid your social through your work contract. You are entitled to financial aid, i have one 3year old and one on the way, by our misfortune (we had to go to the tax office) and whilest we were there we got talking and found, housing benefit, school benefit (which pays school dinners and things). Also there are government run food banks provided for people in need, people with children are high priority. I read someone suggesting returning to the UK, i returned last year and lasted 5weeks, benefits unless there for 3months, if you have been in spain for so long the UK give you nothing and its more expensive. I would recommend staying here unless you have something to go back to. Hope this helps.

I'm very sorry to hear of your situation for you and your family which unfortunately is affecting a considerable amount of people now and as a previous poster advises it could be for a long time. If I were in your position and its not what you want to hear but I would be seriously considering going back to the UK. This in my opinion would be a far better option for your future prospects in such that you are more likely to find work and help. I don't know how fluent you are with the Spanish language but as you will already know your problems can be particularly exasperated if it is a problem for you.

I really feel for you all but because of the amount of scammers on all sorts of forums I think you might struggle for people to donate money to you, which is unfortunate for the genuine people.

Hello Everyone 

Thank you very much for all your love and support. Its really been a rough year for most but i am grateful for all you wonderful people for taking time out to give me some advice. We have had a thought through about the Uk return suggestion we feel it might be much more tougher in the Uk for now as the we have had they are long lists for housing etc and we will need a substantial amount to at least get started as we wait for approval.

The issue of online scammer is terrible as it has disadvantaged so many genuine people seeking for assistance.  Hopefully they will be better ways of catching the culprits in future.

Once again thank you all for your support, will continue to soldier on until something works out.
