Could someone please confirm that it is ok for a couple to walk to the shops together, thank you.
Yes (advice) 4.5 metres apart. ie not together. ie: no.
if that helps.

I am not being pedantic: No problem two together at a check-out (at the advised distance). The original question is by Lynpat: "Could someone please confirm that it is ok for a couple to walk to the shops together, thank you."
Answer as above. NO.

Surly, for the sake of safety , an older couple must be allowed to walk together. If I was in Spain, I would feel a lot happier if my other half was with me. What happens if I have a fall? I understand the reasoning but they haven’t thought it through.
Let’s hope those “huggers” don’t start snatching people’s shopping. I wouldn’t put it past them

They can walk "together", but alone (if you get my "drift").
There is a difference in walking together, or walking in the same street as another person, be it you know them or not. It´s the distance between them that counts. Hence the rules.Hope helps

Thank you for replying so quickly. It won’t really matter to me as I am not in sunny Spain. Supposed to be going on Monday but that’s been shelved for quite sometime.
We are home isolating here in Northern Ireland by choice. I am 70 and my husband is 74 and neither of us has any desire to die so are literally in hiding. It’s a lot easier for us as everyone else out and about so looking out appears normal. The clock changes soon and the sun is out today so think we will go somewhere for a drive while we are still permitted . Getting out and about is still available to us as yet. Not sure I will like it if all changes. The whole thing is frightening.

Please tell me what is it that people don't understand about the regulations put in place while Spain is in a State of Alarm ?
There are clear concise lists of all regulations on many websites, N332, CAB etc.
The reason they are in place is to protect OTHERS, not just yourselves
The less people going out, for vital reasons only, the less chance if spreading the virus, which you may have, but not yet have symptoms of.
1 person will spread it less than 2 persons.
When will people stop being so selfish ?
Rant over
Thank you
