I am just finalising my Non Lucrative Visa and hope to return to my house in Gran Alacant in June. I have a 3 bedroom house and this will be my first full winter in Spain. I am thinking of letting a room/ houseshare initially for the winter months -  primarily for company.

If you have a friend/ relative who might be looking for a winter getaway please ask  them to contact me for further details. My house is at the top of GA, on a bus route and walking distance to bars, restaurants and a couple of shops.

Chris. A NLV is primarily aimed at retirees or those who do not need to work. You apply for it in your home country, U.K. for me, via the Spanish Consulate. It hangs on specific financial requirements. Currently you have to be able to evidence that you have appx £26k available funds a year. The visa is actually a step to full residencia. In the first year as stated you need access to £26k.  After a year you renew it for 2 years so need to have twice this amount available. Year 4/5is the same as prior two years.  When you have completed 5 years you become a full resident.  As I said you can’t work on this visa. The money doesn’t have to be in Spain.

hope this answers your query.
