New here - what is best way to meet people

Hi, I  bought my house in a Gran Alacant in 2016 with my partner, having moved up from Almería area. In 2017 we had a few nice holidays and we’re just finding out feet. Sadly Chris died at Christmas 2017 unexpectedly so after a period of time not wanting to come over on my own I came back and am struggling to meet new people. I am sure however as a couple you will find it easier.  People are very friendly here.  If you are an active couple there are walking groups, there is a bowls club, a language exchange if you want to speak Spanish and I am  sure many others that I don’t  know about.  Many of the bars/ restaurants have music so an opportunity to dance if you like.  I found a group called a Interclub of Arenales, it is a club for expats. They organise quiz nights aver two weeks soon and a dinner dance once a Month.  I have not been able to attend so far as I have not been in GA when the events were happening.  They do close down unfortunately for the summer so after the last dinner dance this month, there is nothing until October I believe.  May be worth looking them up?  Hope you find this helpful and have better luck than I finding nice friends to socialise with, I haven’t found it easy so far but guess But not giving up.
