Good morning everyone
Me and my wife are looking to move to the area in the near future, Im a merchant seaman working a week on, week off from the port of Liverpool, so im hoping to just commute each week on my week off, Was just wondering if you guys could give me some advice on running costs of a property in Spain, electricity, etc, any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Hi Jamie, welcome to the forum.
I can only tell you what I'm paying.
Council tax - €173 a year.
Electricity - taking the bill total and dividing by total units used, to give a true per unit cost, works out at average of about 21 cents per unit. Usage varies tremendously between households, but our average spend per month over the last two years has been €107.
Water plus rubbish collection - this again varies a lot between households, but ours works out at about €30 a month based on about eight cubic metres usage. Rubbish collection should really be part of council tax, but for some unknown reason the council use the water company to collect the money.
Gas - we're out in the country and don't have piped gas, so we use bottles - for water heating plus a certain amount of heating in winter. Without ploughing through my bank account, I don't know how much we spend, but I'd guess at about €100 a year.
Logs - our main source of heating in winter - about €280 a year.
Landline/two mobiles/internet - about €700 a year.
TV - I'm not interested in sports or movies etc premium channels. Good satellite dish and receiver - one off installation cost for all the free channels about €630.
Anything I've forgotten?

Me and my husband have just bought our second 2 bed apartment in Gran Alacant. one this August and one last August we pay 24 euros for internet 9 euros for British TV channels, water 23euros, community fees 23 euros, electric depending on aircon usage 30-50 euros all monthly, our sumba was 189 euros this year as your only charged 6 months for the first year you buy and after this its 350 euros a year for non resident or 250 if your a resident, hope this helps :)
