Can't help with hiring, but I will have 2 mobile units for sale from March 25th when I return to Spain. I too had house in Monte y mar ,GA, but moved inland and dont need them there as much lower humidity, if that helps

The only hire option I've seen is at San Luis, but it's expensive at €50 a week:

Kimmi, if you have a car, there is an HSS hire shop on the road from quesada to Torrevieja, if you google them, they can deliver if they have units available.

Hi, I live in San Luis.

I used to have one of those portable a/c units. They took about 2 hours of constant operation to get the temperature down a bit and when switched off, one hour later the temperature had returned to original temperature.

Additionally, they are very noisy and impossible to have one in a bedroom and sleep. The outlet hose has to have a rubber "panel" to fill in the gap in the window, where the exhaust pipe goes. Effectively the room has to be sealed "air tight" for it to be effective.

The efficiency of the mobile units are quite different from installed "proper" a/c units that can be found for around €400. Always, if in doubt go for a larger one so that (if installed) in a bedroom, with open doors, it can affect the adjacent lounge, when set for maximum power.
