Hi, I am Niki, just moved here in Gran Alacant. I am not young :) and I would love to meet people. Can you give me any suggestions?

Thank you!

Hi Niki, My partner Caroline and I have been here in Benimar for over a year and half and keep making new friends. There are many activities in our area but not sure about Gran Alacant, we go to two quiz nights a week, I play golf every Wed with a golf society, Caroline is part of a ladies group that meets ever Wed and organise different activities, she has her slimming club and we both walk our dog who gets even more attention than we do! All I can suggest is you get out into the community, check free newspapers for activities and I sure you will find more than enough to keep you busy all Year round!

Good luck.

Rob.

Thank you Rob for your kind suggestions!

Until now I was recovering from a heavy year, now I am beginning to look around. That's why I posted here :) I am sure I will find something.

Hi Niki, I too live in Gran Alacant. I bought in 2016 but sadly lost my partner late 2017 so have been “ doing it solo” since then.  As a single person it is a bit harder to make friends but not impossible. Before CV19 there was a language Exchange at the library, for those who wanted to practice their Spanish which I  joined. There is (Was) a quiz night  In one of my local bars and a friend of mine started a Gran Alacant ladies coffee meet group. Thats just the places close to me. I live by the Farmacia. I am not yet a permanent Resident but I am here this time till end of September and would be happy to meet up for a coffee ( or a glass of wine) if you want to.  I too am not young, 60+. For the guys my friends husband joined a walking football team and they now have a lot of friends from that too. Sadly I am not a sportY type and don’t drive but am slowly building a nice group of friends some who live here permanently and some who don’t . Welcome to GA!

Hi Niki

Welcome. Check out Costa Female Friendship Circle on Facebook - it’s not a large group, but welcoming and friendly. There may be people in the group from your area and there are group activities, some regular/organised and some impromptu meet ups for lunch, drinks etc.
Best wishes, Jackie (in the U.K. at the moment) x
