Just wondering if anyone can help!

I live in Gran Alacant it is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom bungalow (some bungalow it is 2 stories high)I live alone most of the time but my electricity bills are 75€ per month.

My question! does this sound about right.

Thanks in advance.

75 per month does seem a bit high. Are you sure that isn't for 2 months?. Electricity has gone up in price recently but unless you were using electric heating or use the aircon regularly I think it should be a bit cheaper than that. However others who live full time should be able to tell you more.

Mine is a 3 bed holiday home without aircon or using the electric heating and the last two months was 99 euros. That includes 2 weeks being there and 6 weeks non occupied (although there is electric left on for security and fridge freezer.)

Thinking about it more, 150 for 2 months could be correct although a little high maybe.

Hope this helps.

Jan thank you for the information,

I don't have aircon and  the bills are monthly, for the last 2 months they were 73€€  and 75€, I must shower to much.

Again thanks.

I hope it hasn't gone to monthly bills for me, as 99 euro for a month would be slightly higher than the UK for a bigger house with many more appliances and much higher usage!...oh dear! I will have to check.

Thanks

Hi Tom,

I just checked my online account and it is saying that the Average monthly cost this year so far is 67,97 € (but we don't live there so with hindsight it seems yours is probably OK)

So 3 bed holiday home (with average 3 months use) is coming up for the full year of 2016

TOTAL :

448,13 €

Average monthly cost:

74,69 €

Hi,

I have just received my latest 2 monthly bill which is now the 4th estimated bill since last read in May 2016.I didnt think it would go over a year without being read. Its for a holiday home and although we,re usually there for April/May for a month, this year we have,nt been there since last November. My bills are usually around 60€(I leave a fridge/freezer on and 4x led 8watt outside lights on timer at night for security and a alarm system - so nothing heavy. This bill was 166€, about 100 over the top.! I,ve emailed them but in English and want to know if anyone has ever emailed in English before and received a reply in English or do I need to resend in Spanish. My neighbour told me I could have the bills in English but I couldnt find anywhere on their app which I do use to request this.I do understand the bills anyway and having found 2 old weird bills without a last reading therefore with no consumption the charges for a 3.45kw potencial is 40.40€ for 60ish days before you use any power, so if your potencia(power) is 5.75kw, you,ll pay even more. This is a lot higher than our UK standing charge and as there is 21%iva added instead of 5%in UK,this is why Spanish electricity seems a lot dearer. The rate per unit is also higher but not too much more but its the standing charges.I changed to their day and night tariff which I find using the cheaper 14hrs invaluable for cooking, washing etc. I have economy 7at home which is actually 10hrs now and know how to get the best out of it.My UK monthly payment is only £55mnth for a 3 bed bungalowfor dual fuel so yes Spains costs are a lot lot higher.

It might be worth checking what power is coming into the property, as the higher the kilo wattage the higher your standing charge will be.

This can be found on your bills.

Sounds right to me.  We pay more than that.
