Hello everyone

We are having problems with getting mail, from Holland, delivered to our residential address. Does anyone else have experience with 'slow to no mail'?  I've been to the post office to ask if they are holding mail, but the language barrier made that a hopeless exercise.

Does anyone know whom I could contact, (in English), to find out what happens to undelivered mail?

Thank you

We were told at Playa Flamenca post office undelivered mail is held for 15 days then returned to sender but after over a month since that it has not been received by the sender in the U.K.

Thank you for your information. I really feel the post is unreliable. Ours is a month on the way and It hasn’t been received back with our sender either.

We've always found the postal service to be reliable, albeit slow - two weeks from the UK.

The only thing we had problems with in the early days was that we 'belong' to Orihuela, and so used Orihuela in our address, but some mail went missing and some was delayed more than two weeks. Because most senders don't put their address on the back of the envelope, they obviously didn't have the mail returned to them. However, our mail is delivered by Rafal, which doesn't come under Orihuela. Since we changed our address from Orihuela to Rafal, we've not had any problems.

Thanks Jim

Thank you for your response

I have changed our address slightly, also, to reflect where we are living but to no avail.

We have asked for the mail to be resent so we can only wait and see.

We were told by Correos that the only way of being sure of getting mail is to have it sent by registered post as it is trackable through the postal system.

Yes that is true but it's a big ask to expect everyone sending you mail to send it registered post.

Shouldn't one expect mail just to be delivered??

Thanks for your response.
