Do I need healthcare insurance

I have seen conflicting advice ou UK.gov website and elsewhere.Can anybody help ? Completing house purchase in El Raso in next week or so, will be living there permanently and applying for residencia. I am 59 yrs old, not working, husband 64 yrs old not working. We do not intend to work,do we need health insurance until we have been resident for 1 year ? If so I have pre existing kidney condition, have had a transplant 11 yrs ago,fit and healthy otherwise. Are there any health insurance providers that would cover me,or do I need to go back to UK for regular checks? How do I get repeat prescriptions. ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED

As you will be living in Spain permanently you are not qualified for the NHS in the UK.

There will be healthcare providers who will cover you as per the previous post

Unfortunately you will not be covered for pre-existing conditions with any private healthcare provider in Spain!

Well thanks to Victoria at Falling Leaves Insurance we now have health insurance at a good price.no cover for pre-existing, but covered for monitoring of them. Recommend their services.
