We are interested in moving to Guardamar and are wondering how good it would be for pet dogs. I know that the beaches are out of bounds for exercising dogs (at least in the summer) but are there some decent size parks or other areas where our medium sized dog (a Kerry Blue Terrier ) could be let off the lead?

Are the pine woods good for taking dogs to? How about other areas nearby, like the Salines deal Mata?

Any advice on the suitability of this area for exercising dogs would be much appreciated.

there are plenty of places to walk your dog including the Guardamar Hills, Reina Sofa Park, La Mata Park and I am sure their are many others. I did  go  for a walk in the Guardamar Hills and their were a couple of dog walkers there and the owner was concerned regarding catapillars that can be deadly to dogs, but I believe this is for only a few weeks if the year see link

As long as your dog is kept cool when it gets hot and you walk it during the cooler hours I am sure he will enjoy it here.

Thanks so much for the advice about places to walk dogs in Guardamar. Thank you, especially for the link about those deadly caterpillars. I'd heard about them and am glad I know more.
