Thought I'd let any Sabadell customers know that from next month December they will be taking €5 a month from accounts unless you have their insurance.they haven't even let their customers know about the new fees,we sent 2 emails that were not answered.  We have got an appointment at Bankia Monday morning to change over banks and all standing orders etc and they do not charge any fees.

Hi Ray

Thanks for your reply I must of missed the thread a couple of weeks back. We are actually permanent residents and do transfer a monthly income by standing order. We went into our branch and they said the fees still apply unless you have their insurance or a savings account with them.

So will still go to bankia this morning and hope foe the best

Hi Pauline(from another Pauline!) Ray is correct about previous long thread and those who checked say Sabadell have backed down as long as you have a regular monthly payment going in. I myself left them in April as being a non resident their charges were an extortionate amount of over 200€ a year. I went to Cajamar who dont charge if account is conducted online and only charge 7€ mnth if transactions are implemented in branch by cashiers (and just that month, not every month). I,ve paid no charges since April(very happy). Initially their app was only in Spanish but now in english and there,s no guarantee they have english speakers in the branch but their web is very informative in english and with google translate we managed to open account and get our direct debits changed too. I strongly recommend people switch to them

Regards

Pauline.

Thanks for your reply. We finally managed to join Santander in Guardamar today absolutely fantastic service, we only have to pay in €600 a month into a joint account, have two direct debits and use the debit card twice a month plus we get two bank cards and the website is all in English. We are very happy and highly recommend Santander

Pauline, you still have found a bank with conditions, my recommendation was for a bank with no stipulations at all and all free. Hope they are as good as Cajamar. I am well happy and have never read a single bad opinion about them but have read many bad reports for all other banks even Santander. Good luck before they too start changing their conditions,

Regards

Pauline.

Hi Ray

We have 123 account but they said you only get the interest in the UK 123 Santander account which you pay £5 per month,. We don't pay any charges in Spaiin and we don't get any interest.

Hope that helps
