On Thursday 7th November, I posted a request for help with a problem I have with Windows 10 on a laptop which has just been upgraded with bigger SSD memory. The request was answered by "Miguel" in Guardamar del Segura. He came to my home, looked at the problem and declared it easy to fix but would take several hours and took the laptop away. He said that he worked at a garage at Calle Mayor 3

I have tried to phone him every day with no response so far. I have searched for his given place of employment without success. It is now Wednesday afternoon and if I have no contact from "Miguel" before Friday morning I shall be denouncing him to the Guarda Civil.

Has anyone else had any dealings with "Miguel" from Guardamar ? I am currently missing an Acer ES1-11 132 laptop upgraded to 2.5Gb memory.

Thats not good news Tony,

Personally, I would not have let a stranger with no traceable address take away any of my possessions, however, having said that, I do hope your post helps and this 'Miguel ' fella shows up, or is found, and you are soon reunited with your laptop.

You're going to denounce someone who called himself "Miguel" and claimed to be from Guardamar but could be from anywhere within the nominal catchment area of this forum, do let us know how that one goes!

How did he contact you?

Thank you all for your replies. This evening, Miguel has been in contact and has been full of apologies for not making earlier contact. He has done the job originally asked of him and the computer is now working properly in the way I wanted it. His work address is C/ Madrid, not C/ Mayor, a difference of about 6 buildings.

Now that my panic has subsided, I might have made a new Spanish friend here in Guardamar who is very knowledgeable about computers, a useful friend to have..
