Hello, I am due to fly back to England from Alicante on 23 October. My neighbour said I need to still do a 2 day antigen test and complete a passenger locator form.

I don’t think that’s correct. After reading the latest update on the gov.uk website it states...

4 October 2021 - people who qualify as fully vaccinated under travel to England rules (which I can evidence) no longer need to take a covid-19 test before travel to England.

Am I correct in thinking I can fly back without having to do anything?

Hello

I would believe what you read on the Gov.uk website ahead of anything you hear from neighbours/friends/someone in the pub etc..... they mean well but are quite  often  wrong!

Cheers

You are required to book a 2 day test (to be taken in the U.K) You will require the reference number on your U.K. booked test to complete your passenger locator form.

So I am not reading it correctly? I know I have to still do a PLF but I thought because I am fully vaccinated I can just do a LFT up to 2 days after arriving?

I flew back last Thursday 14th October no pre flight antigen test required. As Jimmy Mack says you are still required to purchase a day 2 PCR test and the reference number has to be put on the passenger locator form. I had to show proof of passenger locator form and COVID vaccinations at the boarding gate (Ryanair).

This is the offical U.K. Government website regarding travel to and from Spain showing how things stand at the moment.

Hello

The new rules start on 24th October so you will still need to book a day 2 PCR test and not the cheaper lateral flow test because you fly on the 23rd October.

It is true that you can get the cheaper test but it starts on the 24th October.

Gosh!!! I'm feeling helpful today 😃.

Provided you are doubled jabbed and have either a digital or printed copy of your covid cert you need when you return to England

Arrival Before  4.00am 24th Oct

Passenger Locator Form and pre book a Day 2 PCR , booking reference number required  for PLF

After 4.00am 24th Oct

Passenger Locator Form and pre book a Day 2 antigen , booking reference number required  for PLF

Hello Sue thank you for your response x What I’m trying to work out is can we just do the lateral flow test results that you get free in the chemist in England? I know we still have to do the passenger locator form.
