Hi everyone.

I was due to relocate to Guardamar  in April. I signed a 12 months  contract for an apartment  when i visited a few weeks ago. Obviously i can't  return to Spain  at the moment. I just want to know how everyone is coping and how life is with the lockdown? Take care everyone.  Stay safe. Hope i can return   sometime soon. Rosemary x

Hello Rosemary:

The live changed a lot here. Noone is on the street, people only go to buy food, walk very little with the dog or to the doctor. There is everything in Mercadona, MasyMas or Dia. Almost all other shops are closed. If we do it really good for a month (maybe little more) we will help to prevent a bigger problem.

Of course noone can go to the beach, restaurantes are closed a week ago, hotel are closed since today. I dont hear someone complaining about the situation so good at the moment, but it is hard because the weather is fantastic.

We wait for you here, you will enjoy here very soon.

For those of us living here since a long time (56 years in my case) life continues with a few changes, but nothing to worry about. Supplies are no problem. Every day die +/- 1000 people from cancer and heart/lung problems without caring anyone, so no sweat if you can do without boozing around.

We have lived her for 3 1/2 years of course there are inconveniences with the lock down, but I am happy the way Spain and guardamar have handled it all . Worried sick about our family in the uk ad government not done enough and should have been done earlier. Life will get back to normal and I am sure you will love it . Contact us when you get over

Life in Benidorm for us is good. We are a retired couple and have no need to be out at bars and restaurants, although we do visit them occasionally. It's eerie here being so quiet as normally we can here music from our balcony every day.

We have plenty of food and wine in the apartment so we will just sit it out on the balcony in the lovely weather.

It may help you to keep up to date with new legislation for the current situation if you keep an eye on the N332 Facebook page, as they post updates on a regular basis.   It is run in conjunction with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking people and usually it is just for anything to do with driving in Spain, but the current situation has meant that they have added information regarding the virus.
