Is it allowable to drive a short distance to pick up a takeaway?

I would say it depends upon your personal circumstances, if you are not mobile then driving would be the only option. I personally do not see the risk of getting infection from a takeaway any more than getting food from a supermarket, I do not see the risk of crashing being any greater than going to a supermarket and as for a fine, if the police stop you and you are far from home then you will get a fine whether you are going to a supermarket or a takeaway.
Aitch.

Thanks for your replies folks.
If you don't know that's fine, but what is exactly the rules? If restaurants are offering takeaway are they breaking the 'law' - if it is allowed then what is the problem? I do understand the 'risks' but surely it is up to me to take them? People are free to smoke and that is their decision. I'm pretty 'old' but I do remember the Asian Flu of 1957. 2 million died then but nobody ever suggested closing down the economy then. I'm not going to break the law in Spain but it do we have to go along with it without question? An economic collapse will kill far more people than corona. Wake up and start thinking!

Essential travel only, so no it is not fine. Takeaways are for the poor souls having to work.

Takeaways are only allowed if they can deliver...there are plenty of threads on here telling you the rules, there is no legal way around them..but why would you? Stay home isn’t difficult to understand..stay safe .

If you lived in the UK would you be sunbathing in a park today?
You could always collect your takeaway on the way home I suppose!
Perhaps not you Pete but why do so many British people assume that Spanish laws don't apply to them?

I simply asked if getting a takeaway is allowable? If I am in Spain or UK I obey the law. That is not the same as thinking a law is a good one. If it were permissible to go and get a takeaway then I think we should all try and support restaurants. Carry on like this and Spain will have no bars or restaurants as they all go bust.
