I know this has been answered before, but can the members advise if this would be allowed, as I believe my understanding was wrong regarding the 90 - 180 day rule, I thought this started on January the 1st and ended roughly end of June, then the 180 -90 started again in July and end in December roughly,

Reason I asking is I have flights booked in April for 18 days in total, then May / June for 28 days, so for the first 6 months of the year 46 days, then July for 19 days, then September for 23 days, then finally November / December for 28 days, so for last 6 months 65 day, so in total roughly 111 days in Spain, is that the members understanding, or does it start when you arrive in Spain..

Hi Richard,

Schengen rules started to apply to UK citizens from 1 January 2021, but your individual 90 days in 180 allowance start on the first day you enter the Schengen zone.

This is the best calculator I've found, so far, where you can enter your planned dates to check that you're not going to overstay:

https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/visa-calculator/

You need to bear in mind that, even 5 minutes in Schengen counts as your first day, so if you were to arrive on a flight that touches down at 5 minutes to midnight, that day, not the following one, is your first in Schengen.  Similarly, if you were to drive down through France, your 90 days countdown would start when you arrive in France, rather than Spain.

Kind regards,

Kim

Thank you Kim, used the chart you put on with a link and apparently we are over by 5 days, will go and re-arrange dates to comply, thanks again.
