Anyone in Guardamar interested in either joining a choir or just meeting up for a singing session? I love to sing classical , folk or music from the musicals. I am a soprano ( not too high) and would enjoy duetting or singing in unison.  If you like I can point you to local choirs,  either ladies or mixed. I speak English 1st language, some Spanish and sing in multiple languages.

Hi Kay,

Maybe a bit late responding to this but do you know of any choirs, singing groups I could join in the Playa Flamenca/La Zenia area?

I have a SONG in my heart and a SPRING in my step!! (Well, kind of!)😀

Cheers John Moran

Bad timing I'm afraid as singing seems to be a banned activity until we are free from the tyranny of face masks and social distancing. Once things do start up again most choirs pick up in September. For contacts try looking on Facebook for Crescendo (big mixed voice choir with middle of the road repertoire) or Andante if you want to tackle classical works. There are or were also several sing-along choirs and show groups but I don't know at the moment who will start up again. Cantabile is a ladies voice choir but worth an enquiry later in the year as we may rethink and take men too.

Sorry I can't be more precise but everything has been closed since Corvid and we were locked down.

You're welcome to contact me again if you're still looking in the autumn. Keep on singing!

So amiss of me Kay to forget  about the singing ban! Well I’m not having it! I shall continue with my Ave Maria’s in the bath/shower 🌧

Thanks anyway for updating me, May we all be unmasked once this wretched virus has passed? Might be sometime yet as those flying machines are about to land!!

Best for now and good luck.

John

Hi Kay

I’m down in Mojácar at the moment but looking at maybe relocating to GDS.

I love singing and in the UK I was in a community choir which I loved. Looking to find a choir (and maybe Am Dram group) to join.

Hi, Recently saw Mojaca on A Place in the Sun - it looks lovely.  I live in Elche and love to sing but have never been in a choir, so if you do come back this way, let me know and perhaps we can start something. I’m sure others on here will give it a go.

Hi

Mojacar is nice but I’m just using it as a base. Funnily enough I saw Elche on one of the property programmes and thought that looked lovely too. What do you like about it?

My husband’s Spanish and although we tried other places when we first relocated to Spain, we finally came to Elche because he has family here.    It is very peaceful, two universities, very Spanish, very safe, good bus and train services, two big hospitals and close to the airport.  I think there’s a lot of nightlife but we’re too old to for that!
