My husband and I have recently bought a property in Benimar and would appreciate any infor re social events, places of interest and the local buses. It has been a stressful time getting all the legal documents etc but now we are looking forward to enjoying living in Spain.

Hi and welcome to the area.
Follow the local town hall pages on Facebook, they always publish information of what’s happening. They usually publish a calendar of events at the beginning of each month as well as a more detailed list when the fiestas are on.
You will also find on Facebook lots of “what’s on” pages for the area. Try searching for all the surrounding areas, Rojales, Benijofar, Quesadaand as far down as Orihuela Costa and Torrevieja. Most of the time it’s just bars advertising what singers they have on or when their quizzes are on, but by searching for a bar/restaurant it’s a great way of getting to know the area.
Check out web pages for the three coach companies in the area, Rosas Tour’s, Davids Coaches and Eurotourguide, as they do trips to local areas and to fiestas etc.
We also have about half a dozen free newspapers published weekly, there are a great source of information
