How safe is it to travel on the bus to Alicante from Torreveija And, when you get there how safe is it to be a lone female walking around the tourist areas during the day.

Blimey...! Other than pickpockets in the town centre and at markers or busy areas its not going to be much safer than it can be .
Don't leave your brains at home and you will just be fine...not going to get mugged by a gang of feral youth carrying machetes ...

Very safe only as it has been said pickpockets so don't worry. I have done it several times. Bus is safe too.

Anyway, situations do change. Imagine if I were asking now the same question about travelling around London! It used to be fairly safe but now absolutely not.

Thank you, I will. I have visited Alicante numerous times. Really have enjoyed it but always accompanied by my husband.
One visit was back in the day was when the bus station was actually in the heart of Alicante. Now it’s not. I have bussed it to the ‘new’ bus station, but don’t really like the walk to the centre.
oh well, we’ll see.

Which aspect of safety are you particularly worried about? You mention the bus - are you concerned about the driver's competence on the road? You say that you are a woman - is it gender violence that worries you in Alicante?
Pickpockets are the greatest risk in any crowded or tourist area, so just be aware of your surroundings. Use a cross-body bag with a flap and zip. I can't see any reason why the bus wouldn't be safe ... Enjoy your trip to Alicante city - it's one of my favourite places: big enough to have museums and shops, etc, small enough to be able to walk all over the city.
