On the waiting list in England for a hernia operation and just wondered if it would be possible to have this procedure in Spain. I have an apartment in the Guardarmar area any feedback welcome, many thanks

Do you live in Guardamar full-time or is it just a holiday home?

Ah, I see.

Well, I'm no expert but I would doubt you'd be able to get it done in Spain as you presumably aren't registered on the Padron & don't have a GP to refer you for treatment.

You could always take out health insurance & go privately but you might as well do that in the UK so there's no real benefit.

Have you thought about contacting your consultant to ask if the NHS will fund it? I've read of plenty of people having operations throughout Europe this way as it is often cheaper.
