Hi,

We are moving there around new year and I have two kids 7 and 8 and need to inlist them into a Spanish school. I was there last week and tried to call one but the man only spoke Spanish and mine is terrible so didn’t get any information. I have a list of schools but they have no website. Does anyone know how to inlist ? And also if you know about a good public school in Guardamar.

Thank you :)

There is 3 public (not pay or religuis) schools in Guardamar, located on North (Reyes Catolicos), Center (Movilvent) and South (Dama de Guardamar) actualy. Availability will be said by "Direccion territorial de Educacion en Alicante" Phone mumber +34 963866000. But probably twon hall will help. My son and daughter are in Dama de Guardamar because they are closer.

I can not recomend the best one, Dama the Guardamar is a temporary building until the build a new one, but except the sport area for me is good just because the teachers that are with them are good.

One recomendation, dont refuse learning in Valenciano Lenguage, i know it sounds strange for you but your children will learn sooooo easy, it is simillar to Spanish and they will learn anyway. My son and daughter had grups with 10 children some year that makes a great class. And there is not way to exclude Valenciano 100% so they will need all year until university.

You need for sure is all this documents to be accepted by the school:

Hi Ros,

Thank you so much for this, we will be living in El Raso so Dama school would be closest to me. How old are your kids if I may ask? I also have a girl 7 and a boy 8. They speak English but we are from Iceland. I know they will learn quick they learnt English very quick. Should I call the office of education to ask for availability? I will have all papers with me. Do they not have a website ? Or email ? Thank you :)

There is a bus from el Raso for free that goes to all schools  so you can choose what you want. My children are 10 and 12 years. They don't have email and the website has just the info I sent you.

You can do nothing until you get "Residencia" documents that means you are living in Guardamar.
