Hello deal forum members!

I bought my property in Spain in May 2018. I don t reside there and only use the apartment for short stays.

Am I correct in assuming that I must only submit the Form 210 since I have no source of income in Spain ?I understand the property tax is 2% of the valor cadastral of the immueble but is that figure

constant or is it a variable ?

In other words, does it change with every new  ownership ?

My property is  14years old and I find it strange that taxes should be based  on a  valuation of 14 years ago which does not reflect the money I have paid to purchase the property.

Where can I check the current cadastral value ?

Thank you for any assistance.

Leon

The catastral value appears on your IBI bill. If you haven't yet had one, you could ask your town hall or SUMA.

It doesn't change with property owner - only when there's a catastral revaluation.

After revaluation the tax will be calculated on 1.1% of the value.

In our case revaluation was long overdue, and they applied the increase also to the previous four years.

In your case, it would be easiest to wait until you get this year's IBI bill - you've got until the end of this year to submit your 210 for 2018.

Many thanks Jim.

I will pop in to the SUMA office on my next visit and  check my property current value.

Regards
