Spanish Driving Licence

We've applied for our driving licence exchange with the help of Aldertons.es There is apparently a large backlog of applications, we put in for them at the beginning of December. You have to have and pass a medical which costs about €45 each. Aldertons do all the work for you, very good service and I would.highly recommend. Takes the stress away. GOOD Luck

We too are awaiting our residency appointment in Alicante. We have a letter however advising that the application has been approved. Again, I think its just due to back log in residency applications leading up to Brext 31/12/20. Give Aldwrtons a ring, they know everything there is to know, worth paying g a small fee for.  Take Care. LYN

No, stupidly I didnt register my UK driving licence!

I think i will have to wait now until my residency comes through then sort it, at least i have until June. 

I cant imagine why anyone in thier right ming voted to leave the EU, its causing so many problems not only for those who reside in Spain but for the general UK public as a whole!

Even if we wanted to rejoin with the next government i dont think the EU would have us back!

If you did not take your medical before the end of 2020 and register the interest before the end of 2020 then you will have to take a Spanish Test! 

That's how it stands atm 

Sorry not good news but 3 of us did this in November 2020 and that's what the officials told us at Dgt..

Can anyone tell me how to find out about the status of licence exchange. We did our Medical’s and test at Rojales beginning of November and still not had the licences through yet. We used our residences confirmation letter as our TIE’s are only just ready for collection 

The medical is the first part ..You needed to follow up and make an appointment or register an interest with the Dgt before the end of 2020..

Once an appointment was made you would have had to go  yourself with all relevant information...

Your UK licence would have been taken away from you and replaced with Spanish paperwork untill you Spanish licence comes through
