Hi there!

Just received an email from Iberdrola advising of their new conditions applicable to my contract starting on 14th Febr2020 (unfortunately a date I will not be in Spain!).

I currently have a contract fora Potencia  of 4.6kw a month and an energy consumption charged at euro 0.166481kWh

They are quoting:

- Término de Potencia  49.286174kw x year and this equates to 4.10kw per month not 4.6kw

- Término de Energia 0.171481 kWh  against  the current charge of 0.166481kWh

So are they going to reduce the amount of power I contracted  and increase the per unit charge ? And this after I paid Euro 60 last year to go from 3.5kw to 4.6kw, great!

Is this a correct interpretation ? and will you all be receiving an increase in your electricity bills from Iberdrola ? (I am surprised because no one has mentioned this on the Forum yet).

Thanks and regards all.

Leon

Are you reading it correctly?

Does it say 49.286174kw , or 49.286174€/kw?

My interpretation is €49 per kW per year, so your bills will be based on €49 x 4.6, divided by 366, and multiplied by the number of days a bill is for.

They do have the nasty habit of increasing prices. Once our contract has ended, I have a periodic look at their website to check prices advertised against what we're being charged. On two occasions I've found that they've tried to attract new customers by advertising cheaper prices, and I've switched us to those cheaper prices without any problems. I could have done the switches online, but didn't want to risk inadvertently signing up for additional services, so I've just gone to an Iberdrola shop and done it.

Hi Leon, if you can delete your personal details ,then upload a copy of your recent bill containing these figures ,I am sure members could sort out the problem for you.

Thank you for replying Jim.

Ibredola states: 49.286174€/kw ano

I am afraid I do not follow your explanation. I have however attached a copy of my latest bill (2nd page) and of Ibredola's letter for your perusal.   I trust I have gone through the process of uploading it correctly. Ta

The image hasn't appeared, but to simplify my explanation:

€49.286174 is the annual charge for each kilowatt you're contracted for, so if you're on a 4.6 kilowatt supply then you multiply the price by 4.6. Then you divide it by 366 to get the price per day.

Thank you . I have just upoloaded the photos (after realising I had not changed the scanner program from pdf to jpg!).

According to your formula and by applying the same number of days shown on the attached invoice (26) I get 0.16105537 Euro x KW per day  and that is an increase from the 0.135031 charged me last. Right ?

I'm not seeing that.

Don't complicate it by taking days into account - just look at the price for 1 kW per year.

The old price is 0.135031, multiplied by 366 = 49.421346.

The new price is 49.286174, so the price has actually dropped slightly.

Comparison websites are mentioned in:
