Moving to a villa in Catral and need a fire basket to burn logs in.
Does anyone know where I can buy a log basket to burn logs in (not store them) for an inside open fire. Cast iron
perhaps.

Leroy Merlin have some:
I think you're brave if you intend to have an unenclosed log fire. Even if you have a large exhaust canopy above it, by the time the fire is drawing well enough to suck the exhaust up the chimney, the room will be so full of smoke that you'll regret lighting it.

That's much better, but the problem is still what happens to the smoke until the chimney starts drawing. You'd have to start with a small fire, to minimise the smoke, then load it up a bit more once you've got hot air rushing up the chimney and drawing any smoke with it.
Before forking out on a fire basket, I suggest you try it as it is. Lay a few short logs front to back to form a platform that the air can get under, then build a fire on top and see how it goes. OK, the logs on the bottom will burn away, but at least by then you'll have tested the viability of a log basket.
You're fireplace looks to me as if it's been designed specifically for an inset log burner, especially when I note the brick lining is inset. With a log burner, you'd have a good set up, as the substantial masonry blocks would store the heat generated by the fire and release it slowly, so you could stop putting logs on a couple of hours before you go to bed.
I obviously can't see the sides of the tapering chimney breast but, if you do get a proper log fire and flue, you could put air vents both high and low in the sides. The low ones would draw in cool air, and the high ones would emit warmed air.
You've got the ideal setup for a nice and efficient log burner, and it would be a shame to waste the opportunity.
