Hi everyone i went to get my padron on thursday as i have a appointment on tuesday for my residency hoorah at long last. Was told not to get Padront until nearer my appointment. So went into townhall with all my paperwork and they said no as the previous owner has not taken there self off the padron. So unless you do this the new owner cannot have a padron how ridiculous is that . Has anyone any ideas i have owned the property since december 2018 my solicitor has tried to contact the previous owner who i know went back to uk so no up to date telephone. Been on face book last time he used it was feb 2019 . He could have died for all we know. His name is Jurgen Rieger if anyone can help i would appreciate it. Susan

Hi, just over a week ago I done our Empadronamiento on line in torrevieja, all was well and we got our padrons sent to us electronically on line, as for your question about the last owner, we were asked to send online the first two pages of our deeds that showed the old owners and us the new owners, so this showed that we had purchased the property. Hope it helps, stay safe and healthy. Peter

I showed them our deeds but he was not accepting this so back to stale mate. What i cannot understand is it is not a bill i even showed him our suma bill. Has to have a email from previous owner so how the hell are we going to get out of this by tuesday. I have waited 6 months for this appointment with the police do you think they will let me have residency without padron?

Did you apply for a temporary 3 month padron? For residency, perhaps they will let you have this until the old owner has/made contact.

I am pleased and hope it all works out for you, if I was you I would over the next day send little reminder messages to his son asking how things were moving stating how important it is to you and perhaps included you and you’re solicitor in all correspondence that will be to the padron office, so you can show evidence that you made contact. Keep in touch and hopefully you will gain your residency and then let the forum know your experience. All the best Peter.

Hooray I have my residency at long last. Word of advice when you have bought your own home here make sure the previous owner takes there name of the padron as you will not get it ,as you are all aware this is needed for your residency.

Those who have not applied yet for residency, because of Brexit you will not get it unless showing your pension going into spanish bank. New rule came out.

I managed to get one in there just in time for my appointment but did have to show my uk bank statements which they excepted what i printed off and highlighted my pension. You have to have 6 months from spanish bank and it has to be printed and stamped personally by them. They also now want the letter from uk pension saying they have transferred  it.

Belen was amazing she did all the leg work took 3 of us to Alicante police station for ex pats dealt with all the forms and paperwork was in there 10 mins all done it was worth the 70 euros to have her do it. Next stop social security they do not open until 15th June.

Well done to you and we are pleased you received your Residencia, what was the acceptable amount of pension and monies in Spanish bank account, as these amounts differ in recent post. All the best peter
