Water Shortage
Hi all, with the change in climate where does one see the water supply coming from in Hondon and Spain in general?

I think Hondon gets supply from Embalse del Taibilla. Almost 160 km long drive away. Thanks to God and all the nature, even in this draught, we still get steady supply of drinking water. There is irrigation water available as well. In Hondon de los Frailes is unfortunately only from the old concrete flooding system pipes as there are no money for more efficient system.
Fortunately the water doesn't disappear from the planet earth, but due to human activities the deficit is created. My granny didn't take shower twice a day, didn't have private swimming pool, didn't play golf...

Thanks for the info. I love hondon but I am a bit worried moving to Spain permanently because of the drought situation.

Hondon is extremely dry and windy, if you really want to move to Spain, explore the north. It is not so hot and dry.

I think it unlikely that domestic supplies as such will suffer greatly. Bans on refilling pools and topping them up, plus forbidding use of watering systems are certainly possibilities These restrictions have been Imposed in this area in previous years.

Thanks for the reply. That gives one confidence rather than a doomsday scenario. Life has to continue and hopefully solutions will be thought off. I love Hondon and is probably one of the best and affordable places to live in Spain

Even in the Netherlands which is mostly below water level, there are complains from the farmers about drought. The upside is, when it rains to much they complain about the high water levels. In Spain you can visibly see that the water is much lower than normal in the artificial lakes and in rivers. History tells there are (worldwide) periods with more and less rain/snowfall so i'm not overly worried.
