Can anyone shed some light on weather in Hondon valley during the year as not a lot of info online aboutt this area, whats its like in october for sunbathing by the pool, i get it might be a little colder at night, are the summer days long and wind free most of the time ?

Hello Harry

Because the Hondons are at a higher elevation than the coast it is therefore 4 or 5 degrees colder, summer and winter. Also, because it is on the weather side of the Sierras, it is much wetter and the clouds often reach to the ground.   That´s why they grow white wine grapes there.....

Bear in mind that any house there in less than 10,000 sq metres is illegal...  Beware!

Also consider the distance to a proper supermarket, health centre, hospital, motorway, train, and then spend a little more money on a house in Crevillent…

Good luck! Richard

A good tip about the illegal houses but this is not a 100% correct as I just bought one 3500sqm and the owner HAD TO LEGALIZE IT before selling it, and yes it is all done without any costs for me. If you work with a descent agency and tell them straight that, you only want a house with the cedula/habitation certificate then you will, get one. Just DO NOT SIGN anything before you have seen that paper and have it checked by anyone that you trust.

I did an offer, the owner accepted it but I had a clausule in it who said: if the house can not be legalised then I could stop the process without any costs or obligations and get my deposit back

Also, Hondón de las frailes does not give them anymore,so do not waste time over there,  Hondón Nieves, la romana no problem , they still do but it takes a while……

Good luck with it , regards

Well, never say never. Have friends who bought an apartment in Los Montesinos, there are 30 app in that building. So you would think all ok, no?

5 minutes before signing at the notary they saw that the cellar under ground did not, have the cedula, so……illegal

It took them one more week before it was all arranged, so never say or think it’s all ok!!! I have 2 years of experience, negative experience.  I still can’t believe what they all try and do in Spain to sell properties, in my country you get jailed for that. I visited properties where the owners said : there is no cedula but,we now a notary, who;will let the deed go trough……!!!!

If you can live with the daily stress that they can knock down your property, because they need a road there and you can find a notary(plenty of them) …who let the deed go trough, no,problem at all. There are 3300 illegal properties in;catral so again, no problem

BUT the day that you want to sell, then you will have a mayor problem because even Spain starts to follow rules and regulations, slow but it’s coming!!!

Enough negativity for now. By coincidence I was yesterday in Montonorasa or,something similar , and I;had noticed the temperature before driving over there, by arrival it was 3 degrees less than in Quesada. So yes, it is always a bit , most,of,the time 2 / 3 degrees less. And you are right, it,takes 45 minutes to drive to the beach

I had contact with 2 agency’s in Hondón, one in la romana and one in Hondón de las Nieves. I had a very good feeling and experience with the one in la romana but they did not have the right property for me so I,took the other one, which I more or less did regret. The la romana one was so much more correct, punctual, on time, efficient, ……I,just can’t say any bad word about them, the  name of their buisseniss was : casas in España , you’ll find them back on the internet.

Wish you good luck and do not rush, ask a 1000 questions, and do not sign anything before you have everything checked or double checked.

Regards

From personal experience the last paragraph above is the very best advice that you can get. I would add to that, don't part with any money either.

I note that the Costa Blanca News is carrying an article about the Catral illegal houses.   If Brexit turns bad then I guess that Valencia would take their revenge on the Brit owners by knocking them all down.....   You heard it here first....
