Difficult.
Unemployment is high in Spain.
If you are British (and not covered by the withdrawal agreement), you now need a working visa.
Employers are obliged to offer work to EU citizens before 3rd country citizens.

Hi Kelvin ,
Thank you for your reply , well I thought as much it would be difficult, but didn’t realise they prioritise EU citizens first .
We have been looking to buy in Spain but I have some concerns regarding expenses with how much it would cost for healthcare as not at retirement age yet . So I thought I could find part time work , that’s looking optimistic now .Brexit seems to have done us no favours in buying in Spain , everything seems a lot more expensive.

FWIW, allow 2000 Eu/couple/year for health insurance, at age 60, assuming no difficult pre-existing conditions.
Have you checked out all the implications of the post-Brexit visas ... working visas and the Non-Lucrative visas ? I suspect that there will always be some cash/black market work, but that is of no use on a visa application.
As for Brexit ... Brits now have all the same rights of access to the EU as Canadians, Americans, Australians .... more or less 50% of diddly squat, unless well funded, or bringing essential and scarce skills.
