(ANOTHER) Spate of Burglaries in the Area

A good friend of mine, just outside of the village (HDLF) was burgled this week. The Guardia Civil attended and advised that there was another spate of burglaries taking place and advised to be extra vigilant.
It may be a coincidence, but I have heard this too many times...
A couple of days before the break-in a Security Company driver called at the property (Holiday Home) and talked about the services, which were not required. The driver offered to put up a sign, in any case, to help protect the property, which appeared helpful.
I have not seen the sign as yet and it may be similar but not quite like the actual legitimate signs and the concern is that this could be a 'mark' for the burglars, similar to the chalk marks tactics used in the UK. The sign may even be legitimate looking but in the wrong location, which, to the untrained eye will not be picked up.
When I know more I will post more, but for now, please remain vigilant, stay safe.
