Hello everyone

I'm just back from Spain having successfully started the buying process for a property in Jacarilla. Not sure how long the process takes to complete but hope to be out there reasonably soon. Sure it's different for everyone but I'd be interested to know the average.

So as a newby, I'm open to lots of advice or suggestions for a smooth transition.

Once I'm able to collect the keys, I'll need to buy light fittings, cooker , hob, washing machine but perhaps most importantly access to the internet then installing air con.

I know no tradesmen and my Spanish is very limited but improving.

Did anyone drive their belongings to Spain or just buy new stuff once there.?

Names and conta details of anyone who can fit lights and the other chores would be much appreciated.

Maybe you'll see me around Jacarilla once I get there. Many thanks.

Gerry

Hi Gerry

Looking back the transition was fairly smooth however it took from May til September to collect the keys and the process was fairly frustrating to be honest with completion dates becoming as fluid as........

Anyway, fast forward 10 months and i'm in, organised and have made monthly visits since September.  I'm coming back in July and my dogs hopefully arrive via pet transport the day after.  I'm planning to stay on until maybe Spring next year.  Look out for me in the village with 2 cocker Spaniels.

Hope you made it in September.

Regards.

Hi Gerry

I guess it depends on the 'SEARCHES' we completed in less than a month, in Algorfa. I can recommend tien 21 in Algorfa who supply and fit all electrics cooker, fridge and air con

We bought virtually all our furniture from almoradi (furniture road )and again they supply and fit. All speak English and are very helpful.

We are still sending boxes of bits from the UK less than £20 for a 15 kg box.

Good luck !

Just wondered who you use to send 15 kg boxes for less than £20?  Thanks
