a

I am British, born in England I just have finished 4 months and hours on the phone with government paid  individuals who seem to have zero awarenss that  Spain has been in lockdown by regions thus preventing travel and stopped my severe disablement allowance leaving me stranded in a care facility in Spain with no practical way financially or physically to get back to my own country, or maybe I should say what was my country, given that the  traditional characteristic  of care, tolerance, and the values appear to have been severely eroded. I was slowly, increasingly crippled by cancer despite extensive but inadeqate operation at the top of my spinal column starting when just 23 rs old  and England provided me with basic financial support for my family so  was able to fight  and  live longer and  was able to initiate some planting of trees, fight to stay alive for my friends and family, be useful to society, and battling crippllng and inexpressible exhaustion- Î was able to be of key worth in founding charities to provide arts, educational, health and survival skills to many with age related defeats and some with limited life expectancy. including others who have been given nothing more hopeful than medication. So now, even my basic state pension of 650 a month has been brutally cut to 420 because some department somewhere has decided that I am "abroad", giving zero worth to the facts of lockdowns, immense suffering, rational argument, personal health/sickness history or the concept that they themselves should offer proof of the allegations that I have consistently continued to claim UK benefit whilst overstaying the statutory 13 weeks overseas. So here now I have 420 a month and reliant on Spanish help. When back in England, i would be entitled to in the region of 650 plus 650 attendance and personal independence payment plus 800 for personal help to stay out of a care home.  So why now do I dread going back ?

I have been on and of here since 1973, but sadly never permanent. I travelled all over with my ex wife, but came back here to try to be resident but it was complicated. I always had a free house to share with a good friend who was very mature in years and didnt need money, just someone around. At the end, it worked against me because iy doesnt fit into the normal pattern, m post didt get to me and my money from the government was stopped. So now Ive been in Spain 7 months, due to having no driver, no money now, no house in UK now..,..  thats a kinda long answer ..............

Hi im sorry but why should the British government give you £650.00per month for attendance and personal independence, and £800.00 per month to help you stay out of a care home when you are living in Spain?

thankyou thats really good of you to help

But I was in contact with them--- Tatiana-  and they needed me to find hotel en route to santander which i could not do. The flights were impossible for my body ie here to alicante, gatwick to portsmouth, portsmouth to isle of wight, and I plan to be able to drive my car in UK when I am stronger so I need help to get to Santander then get my car MOT and get back to my life on isle of wight. So now I am also seeking of a way to be in  Spain out of this care facilty¡ where I have deteriorated rapidly through lack of movement. Money is one answer andf I have been able to re-start my nmobiliaria online, only just over an hour a day  but I pray and hope and work with what Ive got

quick note- when I was on the IW and living rent-free in the house of an old friend, he insisted that I stopped claiming the 800 because I didnt have to use it. so I  stopped claiming- thats why, I think, the UK authorities thought I had moved abroad

Official Spanish care facilities have a Trabajadora Social (social worker) attached to the staff, to ensure the well being of residents, although they may not work full time at one facility. They should be able to help you liaise with the dept of work and pensions in England to sort out attendance allowance and other exportable benefits.

If yo access the govt website there is a section concerning moving abroad and any exportable benefits to which yo may be entitled, all listed quite clearly, together with information on how to apply.
