Recently purchased a property in Xaló town. The property is supplied with water, with a meter but l wondered is the water supplied by a company and if so how often do they invoice? Thank you

Your solicitor may have asked for your utilities to be transferred into your name.

I think the water invoicing in Jalon is administered by the Town Hall (Ayuntamiento) so I would suggest you rock up there with ID and property deeds. I doubt you would need an appointment in Jalon.

If the account is already in your name the water company will direct debit charges from your account periodically. Where I live it's quarterly. If it's not already in your name it might be worth asking your solicitor to do it for you.

Let us know how you get on....

Steve

Thank you Steve for your reply. In our other properties in Spain the water is invoiced quarterly by the company Hydraqua. I also believe in Xaló it could be the ayuntamiento. All the other propertyutilities have been invoiced and paid with direct debits. It’s been 5 months without a factura for the water! So I will take your advice and pay them a visit next time I am up in Xaló.

The villages in this area are all charged by the Ajuntamiento. The water mostly comes from Parcent, but each village technically invoices it’s own.
