What sort of furniture do you want?  Second hand?  Budget? High end?

Several good ones in the main street in Gata de Gorgos including Albir Colonial, which we love but may not suit your taste or budget. Most big towns have lots of independent furniture shops either side of the main road into town eg. Teulada, Benissa.  You'll find them on Google Maps.

Most independent retailers will deliver anything they have in stock within a couple of days and assemble it in your house but you will probably have to pay extra for it.  Unfortunately the concept of online shopping hasn't really arrived in Spain so you'll need to go to the shop.  I'd spend some time looking for places on Google Maps before you travel and try giving them a call.

There is an IKEA office in La Marina shopping centre in Ondara, only about 20 minutes drive from Jalon. You would be able to order from their catalogues and they will deliver. Alternatively, presumably you could order online from their Spanish site and arrange for delivery at a convenient time.

Main Street in Teulada lined with furniture shops on both sides, of all types.

Arrived 23rd June in Denia and still waiting for the beds, armchairs and terrace table and chairs we ordered in the week after we arrived. Typical turnaround time 10 to 20 working days, potentially longer for a sofa. Did a big online shop with IKEA in Valencia, turnaround just under a week for delivery. We got the same story in the shops around Denia, Ondara, Gata and Pedreguer - either Brexit, Covid or the summer at fault. Still love the area and our new house! Best of luck!

I think the long delivery times are more to do with a huge increase in demand recently, following the arrival of holiday home owners who have been prevented from travelling for a very long time.

Also possibly type of furniture. Months before Covid disaster, we ordered two specially made items of upholstery. Wuoted ten weeks delivery although in fact arrived much more quickly. Made by a large international Spanish firm. This wasn’t a problem to us, as this was similar to UK delivery times for this kindof item. But Covid has made a horrendous difference to staffing capabilities and if any materials have to be imported, Brexit has increased problems tremendously.
