Hello,

Planning a visit to Javea in the summer what are the options for travel from Alicante Airport up to Javea, without the stress of car hire .

Thanks

Brian.

https://www.beniconnect.com/.../alicante-airport-alc/javea

This may be your best bet, otherwise you’ll have to get from the airport to the bus station in Alicante before you start and the bus is quite likely to take longer than you think.

Alternatively, there are plenty of official taxi services.

Thanks Stephanie,

I was fearing people would say hire car, you know how it is with some of these car hire lot, paranoia, takes the fun out of things knowing they are ready to pounce for the slightest of damage to the car, thanks for your reply.

Yes I have always feared the charges for the smallest scratch. On the few occasions I've been to England I've had bad experiences. However nowadays you can buy a SEPARATE insurance that covers you for ALL charges applied. You still have to pay a fat deposit which is refunded afterwards but the estra pollcy gives you the peace of mind:

Good luck

Yes I always cover myself with extra insurance, however I don’t know Javea at all and it just lands up a tad stressful, I’ll see about private transfer or taxi,

Thanks for reply

A car hire is the cheapest and most flexible way as taxis can cost a king's ransom! Nothing to fear in Jávea except finding a parking place! I've lived here 12 years and before that in Altea since 1985. The real fear I have is driving in England - they are fast and furious and often dangerous. Drivers here are usually much more considerate but be especially careful at roundabouts - The Spanish don't know how to use them!

I am always amused by the way the English buy a coffee and don't have time to drink it running around with sealed plastic cups to drink as they walk (run)

Good luck! A.P.

For example: a taxi to Alicante airport from Calpe, the last time we went, cost some 90 eu, plus the return.

So Ancient Printer is correct, car hire is the easiest and cheapest, but the Beniconnect service is pretty efficient and perfectly reasonable I understand; except it no longer runs to Jalon, so that doesn’t help us much!!!!

Beniconnect is €26 pp each way, but also do private transfer so you can ask for a quote.  Alsa bus takes a while as makes stops..... but if you are not in a hurry and like to see the views?  Caronline is local and meets you at the airport.  Be careful of the insurance scams at the airport.....expose on Goldcar at the moment on Face Book  ... they say they do not recognise your own excess insurance so cannot give you the car....not true.  Make aure you have a credit card, not a debit card.  As you say, hassle free if you catch Benniconnect or Alsa.
