Help

M husband (Spanish resident) on his way back to Madrid/Alicante this am. He’s been told he’s got to fill in a locator form. He did try unsuccessfully 3 times luckily they let him on the flight.

I thought it didn’t apply to Spanish residents.

Any help would be great before he lands in Madrid and into more hassle.

Thank you

Hi Lesley,

The opening paragraph of Spain's entry requirements, as stated on the Gov.UK website:

"The Spanish government requires all arrivals to Spain from the UK to present on entry a Health Control Form....."

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain/entry-requirements

Stricter regulations are being introduced from 1st December 2021, so it's worth bookmarking this page, so that you can keep up to date with any changes.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim.

Thanks but UK/Spain have put out a notice stating this won’t apply to British expats living in Spain who have Spanish residency.

Friends who travelled earlier in the week didn’t need anything other than their covid certificate and their TIE which my husband has both of.
it’s so confusing not one website makes it clearer about residents.

Thank you

Hi Lesley,

Please would you post a copy or internet link to the notice you say that UK/Spain have put out "stating this won’t apply to British expats living in Spain who have Spanish residency".

I travelled back to the UK a couple of weeks ago; at Brittany Ferries check-in for our return journey, I had to provide our EU vaccination certificates, French health declaration and Spanish health control forms.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Lesley,

Note also, the information on the Spanish government website, which states:

"All persons travelling to Spain from another country (including children of any age, travellers in transit and residents in Spain returning home), must complete the Health Control Form associated with their trip."

If you could post the information you have seen, I'll be able to see whether it is different to the official information from both the Spanish and UK governments.

Kind regards,

Kim

I’ll try and find it I took a photo but don’t have it in my saved album.

He’s landed and no forms  asked for by Madrid authorities only needed his TIE.

Now his flight was delayed & hes missed his connecting flight to Alicante. A nightmare of a day.

He would also need to show his travel document  , commonly known as a passport. As well as his covid cert. As a Spanish resident, he would just need to show his TIE to stop his passport being stamped.

Yes that’s all he had to do a couple of months ago when he flew back from Beirut via Istanbul’s

I don’t think the staff in Beirut this time didn’t quite understand.

Hi Lesley,

Good to hear that it's sorted.  If you could find the source of the misinformation you read about the Spanish health form, it would be helpful to add it to this thread, so that we can ensure people understand the importance of using official sources.  If your husband travels regularly, it's worth bookmarking the links I gave you, so you can check whether the requirements have been updated before each trip.

Many thanks,

Kim
