Hi Claire,
Since Brexit, UK citizens now have to start the residency process in the UK at the Spanish embassy or consulate closest to your home location, i.e. London, Manchester or Edinburgh. Several of our members have applied for the Non-Lucrative Visa (NLV), typically required by pensioners and early retirees, and have shared their experience on this forum. Other types of visa are also available, e.g. Work, Student, Golden, etc. You have to obtain the visa before moving to Spain, but once granted, you can move here and apply for the TIE residency card.
There's more detailed information in the 'Spain Tips and Guides' section in the ribbon at the top of the page, but if you're happy to share more detail of your intentions, we may be able to give more specific guidance.
Kind regards,
Kim

Hi Kim
Many thanks for this.
I should have mentioned that I hold joint British and Irish nationality’s so am lucky enough to be still classed as an EU citizen. I have made enquires and as such I can apply for residency via a solicitor once arrived in Spain. I have also been advised that my husband can apply for residency through me as a family member.
I just need to find a reputable English speaking solicitor in Xabia.
Kindest regards
Claire

We have an apartment in Javea and used Webster Asesores, Lawyers in Javea
Very happy with them.
