Hello,

I am 58 years of age and I am considering a move to Spain. I am a little concerned that I won't know anyone over there. How easy is it to find friends and find things to do, looking for somewhere with a good community spirit and lots to do

Hi Shelly,

You can make as many or as few friends as you like. There's quite a big Brit community around Javea, a lot of early retired and retired too.

It just depends how outgoing you are and how many friends you want!  It's easier to make friends here than in the UK as people are generally more friendly and laid back.

Good luck! Steve

Hi, Shelly.  We have not bought a property yet (going back in 2 weeks time to view more), but already made loads of friends in the area.  I would suggest that you join the Moraira Ladies Lunch Group on Facebook (they do a Coffee Club one as well).  I go to the lunches when the dates coincide with our visits to Spain.  Such a lovely group of ladies.  U3A is meant to be very good as well.  Message me if you want more details.

As the previous post mentioned U3A  is wonderful and has much to offer. Lots of groups with varying activities. Also if you play bridge you will be welcomed at Javea bridge and Social Club. Good luck.

Thank you very much that is so kind. Hoping to come over later in the year to have a good look around.
