Buenos Dia,

We feel a small introduction is in place when posting messages and asking people for help.

We are a Dutch couple, both aged 55, with plans to migrate to Spain, Costa Blanca, Javea area. At the moment we are still living in Holland and in the process of selling our house. So if anyone is interested in a great, detached modern home, between Amsterdam, Utrecht  and The Hagua corner, feel free to let us know.

After our migration to Spain, i will continue my current job (IT consultant and web design) and Miranda will setup her Home Staging business, which is already active in Holland now. If anyone has plans to sell his/her property, Miranda can give it a budget friendly facelift which will put your house directly in the spotlight and on top of all other sales listings. You can check our website in Holland here:miranda-vastgoedstyling.nl

As we also like to meet new people, we have plans to run a small B&B. In our own property or by joining and working together in an existing one.

At the moment we are looking for a long term rental house to start, maybe in a second stage we will buy our ultimate dream house. But... we are always open for suggestions, offers or just a nice talk.

Warm regards,

Miranda & Ulco.

Hi Miranda and Ulco,

Your plans sound interesting - and good luck to make it all come true!

I have a property near Javea - at Jesus Pobre - although I live at Beniarbeig. I also provide an assistance service for people who are house hunting in the area and want to get independent advice. My website link is below. If I can help in any way please just get in touch.

Kind regards, Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your reply. Nice to know the posts on this forum are noticed by others.

Indeed our plans are interesting, we know very well what we want and can do. Making them real is a different story, already for a long time we are visiting Costa Blanca and Javea area. Sofar with any luck. Eventhough our financial situation is healthy and we can guarantee fixed monthly income, Spain is very different from Holland where it comes to mortage and loans. A 70% percent mortage means bringing in at least another 45% of our own savings and that's something we don't want. Not only our age is playing a role but much more we like to spent savings into quality of live, unexpected costs and, if needed, renovation of property.

That's why we are now looking for rental property or a possibilty to run a B&B on behalf of other owners. Not for making lot's of money but more for the social part and in addition to my job in the IT and Miranda's goal to do the Home Staging.

So, we continue our search and as there is no time pressure, we keep positive.

Thanks again and have a nice evening.

Ulco, Miranda

Ulco and Miranda

Welcome to the forum both of you, and if you have chosen Javea as your spanish destination, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!.  But I am biased. My husband and I (English and in our 50s/60s) have lived in the same house here in Javea for 13 years and over the last 5 years we have made more and more Dutch friends so that we can now say, that our Dutch friends outnumber our English friends by a couple of dozen...or more. Having said that, we are internationalists and according to our new Dutch friends we all agree that it's one of the attractions of Javea.  We are never bored or looking for things to occupy our time.  The social side of life is wonderful.  On top of all that, it is such a pretty area and green too.

I wish you success in selling your house in Holland, which should be pretty easy, given your talents!

If you are interested in meeting when you are visiting please private message me.

Bestest

Lizzy

Hi Lizzy,

Thanks so much for your nice reply. Good to read Javea is also your choice as a place you prefer. Maybe we will meet someday, somewhere! As I wrote before, we have lots of motivation, enthusiasm and a drive to make it work as well as learning to know new people. I will definately let you know when we are in Javea!.

Best regards,

Miranda and Ulco.

Hi 👋

I remember you guys in the "blu" mobile shop in the port, you were struggling with mobile internet I believe? as were we at the time! We're a  Young family with 3 children, you maybe not remember 😊

We have just finally found a long term rental after a long time searching, it is not easy in javea to find rentals. I hope you don't struggle like we did, should you want any help or advice on where to look just contact me and I'll be happy to help.

Good luck with your move, hope to see you again soon in javea!
