Hello,

My name is Blair Young and I am 18 years old. I just wanted to gain a broader knowledge of the job vacancies that could be available next summer as I intend to move to the Javea region in that time period for an unknown length of time. I am interested in tourism, sport, commercial vacancies within bars/ restaurants etc and would love prompt feedback so I could gain useful knowledge in plenty advance.

Regards,

Blair Young

Firstly, let me wish you all the best in your efforts to move to Spain and to find employment. However, the reality of trying to find work in Spain is that unemployment is high, where there is work it is often long hours for low pay with many Expats having to take on two or even three jobs to make a reasonable living. Reputable employers will want to be sure that you are properly registered to pay Taxes and that you have your NIE Number although some may help you with this, also being able to speak Spanish would be a distinct advantage in your job seeking. Much of the work in the Tourist sector including Bar and Restaurant work is seasonal with many being laid off around the end of September  It looks like the days of being able to work under the radar cash in hand are over as the Spanish authorities clamp down on those working illegally and things may become even more difficult when the implications of Brexit are fully realised. Don't be put off as with some preparation, research and a lot of effort it is still possible. I wish you good luck and hope you find something suitable to provide a living for you and fulfil your dream.
