We visit Javea regularly, as we have a villa here, but we always go back to our same favourite restaurants (La Boheme, Posedonia, Le Bacchus). This time we want to try some new ones, away from the Arenal, preferably old town or port. So recommendations please.

We also have a villa in Javea and although there are loads of restaurants it is difficult to find good food.

We like Calima in the Port . In the street behind is Azorin - Spanish owned and although there is no outside seating the food is good. If you like steaks then try Gaucho on the Jesus Probe Road. The menu of the day is good value.

Also try Nau Nau ( the Yacht club) in the port. Menu of the day 25€ 3 course meal plus wine.

La Cantina opposite the fish market if you like fish. You need to book as it is always busy - very Spanish.

La Cocina is good

Massema on the Benitchell Road is good. Not the cheapest but the menu of the day is good value.

Hope this helps.

It depends upon your preferences.  For curry, go the "Curry Palace". They are a nice Nepali family but the Boss, Shree, is in Nepal for a holiday unitl the end of November.

For Sole (Lenguado) a la Meuniere. go to Mason de Paco by the"Sails" roundabout.  Do not go to, NORAY for Sole as it is the size of a sardine. ...but a lovely view!

Friday Noon & 6 p.m. for fish & chips go to "Lancashire Bruja".  "Scallops" is good value but the batter may or may not be fully cooked.

Generally, "Trip Advisor" will give you options to check out.

Azorin in the Port can make a good paella.  If you like the rice crispy, ask for SUCURAT

Buen provecho!
