As we were hopeful it would be returned to us and as the insurance people said we needed to keep the insurance on it as it will probably need 2 new batteries plus it could have been scratched etc etc

...er paid 900euro for insurance, considering its ment to go down annually with no claims bonuses. Same with the lawyer thats far too much, all records of impounded cars are in the policía local stations, they can tell you exactly what happened to it.

If you walk to the Guardia Civil yes they should have a record of where your car is, I spoke to a few police just in passing one of whom is Guardia Civil they all must as enrollment policy be able to speak basic English because they deal with people internationally.
