We usually have two overnight stops. Somewhere in or near Tours - there is plenty of hotel / b&b accommodation on Booking.com, we quite like the Novotel, you can park right outside and rooms are clean and spacious. We then drive via Bordeaux to the French/Spanish border where again there is loads of choice for places to stay eg Bayonne is lovely(we stayed at the Hotel Villa Koegui - beautiful) and we’ve stayed in Hondarribia and also Hotel Iriarte Jauregia in Bidania-Goliath - off the beaten track but we wanted a night in the Pyrenees. From there it’s an easy 8 hour drive to Quesada through Pyrenees and via Pamplona, Zaragoza, Tereul and Valencia.
Note - fuel is quite expensive on French motorways so try to get it when you stop over - we found it much cheaper at, say, Auchan supermarket and it’s also really cheap once you get over the border into Spain.

Hi Donna1952
See route below is what we normally do driving down from Newcastle in the North East, we usually stop at Poitiers which is roughly half way in a Camponile there nothing flash but clean and safe.
Calais-Abbeville-Rouen-Le Mans-Poitiers-Bordeux-Pau-Somport Tunnel-Jaca-Huesca-Zaragoza-Tereul-Valencia down the A7 to N332 or stay on motorway and pay 2 tolls then into Villamartin. Tolls sre approx 100 eoros through France you are toll free in Spain this way.
Regards
Andrew

Hi Brian
We had our place pre brexit so had no issues, you will have to pay import taxes to take goods through now, deoending what your thinking of taking I would possibly look at buying in Spain.
You cant even take a cheese sandwich now 🤷♂️🤣
